Annex Building

MAP studio ( www.map-studio.it ) is an architectural firm founded in Venice in 2004 by Francesco Magnani and Traudy Pelzel. MAP Studio carries out public and private assignments, combining professional and research activities. The studio works on architecture and town planning projects, feasibility studies, the restoration of existing buildings, and the realization of new buildings, both public and private.

Selected Recent Projects: The restoration of Porta Nuova Tower at Venice Arsenale (2006-2011), which was awarded Pietro Torta Award 2011 and Piranesi Honorable Mention 2011 at Piran Days of Architecture (Slovenia). In 2013, this work was also nominated for the European Union Prize for Contemporary Architecture - Mies van der Rohe Award | The restoration of a Farmhouse in Ferrara (2006-2012). This project was a finalist in 2015 for the Italian Architecture Gold Medal Award | The conversion of the Hydrodynamics Power Station and the Power Converter Substation for the Port Museum Complex of Trieste (2012-2014) | The design and construction of the Tramway Terminal in Venice, which was a selected project for the Big Mat International Architecture Award in 2017 | The design and construction of an office building (Annex Building) in an industrial area in Bologna | The restoration of Balboni House of Carlo Scarpa in Venezia; recently Electa Publisher edited a book about this work titled The House on the Grand Canal
