Tighe Architecture

The design is inspired by nature and natural resources of Finland which have taken on the role of a shield and disguise in the past, thus protecting the people of Finland during times of war, and today serves as a valuable source and foundations of a nation. Both of which can be traced to innovative and bold thinking of the people of Finland, in the past and in the present. A true resilience and grit that is second to none and which paid off.

The Annex will symbolize the power of culture as an engine of change and the building of a national identity on a multicultural value base, combined with a shared responsibility for the future, driving force are sustainability, the idea of today’s ever changing engine, the hub, the technically advanced machine yet, responsible towards nature. The new Annex symbolizes changes, the role of museums have changed from institutions where information was directed in only one way: towards the viewer into institutions that are increasingly creating conversations with the viewer.
