MSLA crafts distinct landscapes that unite artistry and technical precision. We draw inspiration from the physical site and the surrounding culture. And we look to nature, our constant muse, to animate and distinguish our landscapes.

While we're inventive about addressing the issues that are transforming the environment today, we're steadfast in our belief that for a landscape to succeed it must not lean on fad, but be holistic, thoroughly researched, well-constructed and, of course, beautiful. We create spaces that endure -- that will be beloved for generations.

Our work has been featured in the New York Times, San Francisco Chronicle, London Sunday Times, Competitions, Landscape Architecture and on the covers of Studies in the History of Gardens & Designed Landscapes international quarterly and the American Academy in Rome Society of Fellows magazine. An exploration of our work can be found in Tim Richardson’s book Avant Gardeners, printed by Thames and Hudson. A Fellow of the American Academy in Rome and on the peer review board for the GSA, David has received numerous awards and honors. Alan Tate featured his work in the book Great City Parks.
